THE POWER OF AN ECLIPSE

Solar eclipses occur anywhere from two times a year to five in total. A lunar eclipse can be more frequent, and reoccurring every month since the moon cycles around us and orbits the earth at a closer range. These solar and lunar qualities are also a represenation via symbolism of our light and shadow self, but also the power and the pull of our inner and outer world. The MOON, as most witches and occultists know; is a reflection of our emotional world and our inner feelings or desires. The subconscious self, and the intuitive self. This is the aspect of most humans that I feel needs the greatest amount of attention in today’s world. The SUN is our intentions, goals, and aspirations. The fire of our self expression and creative pursuits. On my path I have found that I am definitely a creature of habit, and the course of the sun. I need to see what is coming up over the horizon, so I can utilize the moon’s energy when things are ‘hidden’. The balancing act of acknowledging the sun and moon, much like the inner and outer world of our body, mind, and spirit will always ebb and flow. An eclipse is upsetting the programming we are aligned with. It brings order, and destruction. Chaos and rebirth. Power and influence. The eclipse itself represents a shadow being cast on all we ‘think we know and feel’ in the time we are experiencing it. During an eclipse we recommend the following:

  • Stick to a plan, goal, or idea - this is not the time to change your mind.

  • Stop focusing on what you see or experience, and look for the DEEPER meaning.

  • Pause, take a breath, and consider what you are experiencing, and if it serves a higher purpose in your life for the long term or if it is meant to be temporary.

  • Activate your involvement in your community. Whether through local politics, or a group gathering. This is when we begin to question authority or outdated constructs.

  • Similar to the previous - let go of things that are outdated, or dogmatic and stagnant.

  • Remember that chaos expects a sacrifice or a complete change in order for things to move forward and evolve. If somethings is ‘falling apart’ maybe you should just let it happen..

Remember: An eclipse is a reflection of us. Our inner and outer world. We are constantly in orbit around so many details and scenarios, just like the cosmos flows and bends around planets, stars, and galaxies. Stay in alignment with your inner and outer world.
